Valerie Hansen Obituary
August 18, 1951 - June 19, 2025
Val was born in Montana and it is where her heart always remained.
She got her start writing for a Montana TV guide publication operated by her mom, Virginia. In the early 1980s, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and wrote interviews and columns for several different publications, including Cash Box magazine.
She had a deep love of music and for many years, ran the fan club for the legendary Delbert McClinton. Her decades long stint working on his Blues Cruise was one of her biggest joys! She would always return with a great tan and many stories about the amazing people, songwriter sessions and 24/7 music that happened while traveling on tropical seas.
Valerie loved so many things...her siblings, her friends, her cats, dogs, traveling, music, dancing, great food, her online solitaire community and what she always called "her mountains" in Montana. She especially adored her nieces and nephews and was so proud of them.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Virginia Fennesey & stepdad Bill Fennesey, her brother, Bradley Hansen, and sister Laurie Catton Hansen.
Valerie left behind a host of friends and family who loved her, including her sister, Lynn Tucker, and brother Douglas Hansen.
She will be laid to rest in her beloved Montana.
In lieu of flowers, please say "I love you" more often.

Val was always one of the first smiling faces we saw on all the Delbert cruises we were lucky enough to go on & one of the last when we left the ship at the end of each cruise. I don't think either of us ever saw her without a genuine happy smile on her face. She was a vital personality with a warm & loving heart, so that no matter how brief an exchange with her might be - even in passing - you left her presence feeling a warm glow of love & with a smile on YOUR face. Rest In Peace, Val - your spirit will be missed but I know you have a front row seat at all the concerts in Heaven. Hug Chuck for me & save me a seat!

Val you were such an amazing woman with so much love in your heart. I will always be thankful for the day Cynda brought us together. You were my angel here and now in heaven. You will be forever missed.
