Valora Henriette Davis

Davis, Valora Henriette 93 May 31, 1920 Jan. 17, 2014 Valora Henriette (Mesenbrink) Davis lived a special life. She was born May 31, 1920, in Chokio, Minn. She graduated from Holloway High School, 1938 and moved to Minneapolis to go to business school. She met and married Newton A. King and they moved West to Oregon in October 1941. She retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1984. Valora had six children, James, John, Judy, Stephen, Gary and Christopher. She later met and married Eldon Davis and lived in Estacada for many years. Her parents; husband; all of her siblings; and sons, James and John have preceded her in going home to the Lord. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Becky King, Judy and Robert Beisell, Stephen and Sharon King, Gary King and Christopher and Aloma King; 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Estacada, and was a longtime member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Portland. She lived her faith and passed that on to her children. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1700 N.E. 132nd Ave., Portland, OR 97230.
