Vanda Taulli Thiel went to Heaven on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the age of 60 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Thiel for the past 34 years and the daughter of the late Lawrence "Eddie" Taulli and Audrey LeJeune Taulli as well as the sister of Janice Lasseigne (David), Audrey Bates (the late Will) and Laurie Taulli. She was the sister-in-law of Keith (Angel) and the late Lorraine Thiel. Vanda was also the aunt of Gary, Nikki and Miranda and the God-mother of Alexandra "Allie" Phillips.

Vanda worked for 39 years for Jefferson Parish Clerk of Courts and belonged to the "Just for Fun" Club and the Pokeno Club. She will be missed by her family, friends and her devoted Taz and Sam as well as all who knew her and she will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her love of animals, reading, traveling and meeting new people. Vanda was supported by her many family and friends during her courageous struggle. The most dedicated of these were her sister Janice along with her younger sister Laurie, her friends Angel, Rose, Faye, Pat, Kim and Bill.

I was saddened to learn of Vanda's passing. Like some of the others who signed the guestbook, we were pen pals as well--dating back to high school! Can someone please tell me how she passed? I never heard. My condolences to the family. Much love, Sandy.

I knew Vanda, not just as my friend Audrey's sister but also, as a co-worker at the courthouse. She was very gentle and caring and I enjoyed my time with her. My heart goes out to Audrey, Janice and Laurie. I'm sorry for the loss of your sister and I'm thinking of you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I met Vanda just a few times, I am good friends with her sister Janice & knew her Dad 'Mr. Eddie" well.
In the past fews months of Vanda's illness, she & Janice had grown quite close.Janice, I know you will always treasure the beautiful memories of that special time together. It was truly a blessing for you both!
My deepest sympathy to you Janice, Tim, Audrey,Laurie & all of her family & friends on your loss..

Vanda and I used to meet at the back fence of our home and catch up on our lives. Vanda introduced me to the blackberries Dad planted along the fence. She would pick them from her side of the fence and I would pick mine. Then go into the kitchen wash them, pour cream over them and sprinkle sugar on them. We were so proud of our accomplishment. When I was transferred from West Jefferson in my Senior year to Immaculata and was in a religion class, Vanda welcomed me and made me feel like I belonged there. I truly appreciated her kindness. Years later when visiting from New Orleans, we stopped in unannounced. Vanda opened her door to my husband and I and made us feel so welcome in her beautiful home.

Tim, I know words can not heal your heart of the lost you have indured. I know so well how hard it is to lose a loved one since I lost both my parents within two years and most receitly my father in January. we will always remeber her wonderful smile her energy and all the fun times we had together through the many years of knowning each other. I just wish I would have spent more time with the two of you. I loved her more then words can say. She was like a sister to me and you a brother to me. we had such an adventure. Hope you will come to me if you need me. I while always be there for you and your family and hers. I remeber so many found times with you both . Hang in there she is with god and all are loved ones and our many pets we had, she is looken done one us and keeping watch over us to try and kept any evil away from us all. I will see you saturday and be there for you and all of us who will miss her.

Vanda:
My dearest friend, co-worker, protector/guardian of my children, you have always been such a dedicated and devoted person so good to all those you encountered. We've been so fortunate to have spent so many memorable moments with you. My family and I have endured nothing but love from you and Tim and we'll always have a special place in our hearts for both of you. You will be deeply missed but blessed to go into a place of serenity where we'll all meet up one day. Everlasting Love,
The Phillips Family - Stacy, Rose, Allie and Corey

Vanda was one of the sweestest people I've known. So gentle and caring, and funny! I only knew her from her role at Court, but we shared our love of animals, and felt she was a friend. Janet MacDonell
