Vanderveer Kirk, 86, Overland Park, KS passed away May 20, 2013, at the Forum in Overland Park. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Lenexa, KS 66215. Vanderveer was born in 1926 in Trinidad, CO, as the fifth and final child of George and Georgia Kirk. After playing football for Yale University from 1944-1948 where he led all-purpose yards, Van joined the CIA where he met his wife, Rose Ann Jacobs. They returned to the US, raised three children, Tucker, Jeff, and Roxanne, and were married for nearly 50 years. He spent the majority of his career traveling around the world teaching sales techniques for Sales Analysis Incorporated, a company which he shared with his brothers, Doug and Cameron. His family, friends, children, and eight grandchildren will all dearly miss him. He was known for his charismatic personality and bright unending sense of humor. Roxanne, Tucker, and Jeff, you sure had wonderful parents. The Morton Family will always remember the great times we had with the Kirk Family whan they lived in Prairie Village. Rosy's smile and Van's great sense of humor will always be remembered.

Van-I am going to miss your sweet smile and wonderful sense of humor. Thank you so much for your daughter, Roxanne, who will carry those qualities on.
Rox, Paul, Brandon, Brett and Brooks-I am sorry for the loss of your father/granddad. He was so lucky to have spent the last several years with you because you gave him so much of your time and love. You will always have these memories to cherish.
