Vanessa Kay Burnett, 43, of Midland, TX, passed away on January 3, 2019. The Lord has gained an angel we are certain.

Vanessa was born in Kermit, TX on July 2, 1975, to Virginia Burnett and Earl Burnett Sr. She graduated from Midland Lee Senior High School in 1995.

Vanessa worked as a Credentialing Specialist for West Texas Physicians Alliance for 25 years. She enjoyed puzzles, NBA games, College Football (Go Longhorns!) and Men's and Women's College Basketball. She was actively involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews, with whom she enjoyed to spend time. Vanessa was a dedicated Christian and lived her life accordingly. She took great care of the people she loved.

Vanessa is preceded in death by her sister, Shelia Delane Burnett, Grandmother Vivian Hayes, and Grandfather Lee Frison Sr.

Vanessa is survived by parents Virginia Bonner and Earl Louis Burnett Sr., her grandmother, Pearline Frison, sisters Francene Slattery and Stephanie Friel, brothers Earl Louis Burnett Jr., Olan Burnett, and Dailon Burnett, multiple nieces and nephews, as well as many family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be at 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Joiner officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park directly after the Chapel service.
