Vaughn Andersen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 28, 2024.
Vaughn Erik Andersen, aged 58, passed away on September 25, 2024, in Houston, TX. Born on December 3, 1965, in Lufkin, TX, Vaughn was known for his exceptional sense of humor, often lighting up rooms with laughter and quoting lines from classic movies or coming up with his own lines of hilarious slapstick comedic sayings. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of sports statistics spanning over four decades in football, basketball, and baseball, which he passionately followed.

Vaughn graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1984 and was always a hardworking man dedicating many years of his life to his professions. He worked as a Commercial Painter from 1988 until 2002 and then decided to follow in his brother's footsteps by becoming an Electrician from 2002 until his passing in 2024. He earned his Journeyman's license in 2009.

Beyond his professional commitments, Vaughn was a loving father, son, and brother. He is survived by his father, Paul Andersen; his brother, Brad Andersen and sister-in-law, Corinne Andersen; his sister, Beth Andersen; his son, Vaughn Erik Andersen II, who was the love of his life; and his nieces and nephew, Becca Rolater, Sarah Andersen, and Preston Andersen. Vaughn was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Andersen.

Vaughn cherished his time with his son and hanging out with him and his beloved dog, Curly. They loved going to the dog park and throwing the ball into the dog pond. He also remained a lifelong sports enthusiast. His tender-hearted nature and deep care for his family and friends were evident to all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 11522 Telge Rd, Cypress, TX 77429.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Special Olympics, an organization close to Vaughn's heart, celebrating the perseverance and spirit of athletes. Vaughn's memory and legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.

I'm sorry to hear about Vaughn's passing. I worked with him for several years at Panelmatic Texas. He was always in good spirits and always carried a smile. I'm sorry we didn't stay in touch over the years and may you rest in peace. The attached picture is from a Guadalupe river trip a group of us went on more than 30 years ago.

Vaughn, I feel truly blessed that we were able to spend a lot of time together this past year and a half. I enjoyed your trips up to Tennessee and am happy you enjoyed our visits. We were able to bond and share in so much conversation. I loved watching movies and sightseeing around East Tennessee. I so enjoyed your company. I'm going to miss you so much. I'm going to miss your daily calls and texts. Most of all, I'm going to miss you corny sense of humor and kind heart. Love you always. Beth aka Sisola
