Ken, Mac, and families. I just heard about Velma's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother and my apologies for not reaching out sooner. She was one of the kindest people I've ever met and I'm very grateful to have known her. I have many fond memories of Velma and John from when they used to babysit me when we first moved to Haysboro, and as neighbours for several years after that. With sympathy, Jeff James.

Velma and I met in 1951 on the telephone when she was an operator in Rosetown, and I in Hershel Sask. Over the years we continued our relationship over the phone, hour long conversations were the norm for us.
She was my very best friend, and I loved her dearly.
She was so proud of her children and grandchildren.
I was honored to have had Velma in my live.
