Metairie , Louisiana - Velma M. Willis passed away on June 11, 2021. She was born on November 11, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Juvencio and Mary Maldonado. She was 73 when she gained her wings.
She is survived by her 4 children David, Mary, Gwen and Billy. She has 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Kimberly, Charles, Allison and Landon. She has 3 great-grandchildren Kree, Paul and Anslee.
She was one of 6 children. Her siblings are Alex, Juvencio, Anna, Cindy and Lydia.
She was preceded in death with her parents Juvencio and Mary Maldonado her sister Anna, niece Laura and great-nephew RJ.
Velma had many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Velma loved life and people. She loved music and two of her favorite songs were New Orleans Lady and Brown-eyed Girl. She always had a beautiful smile and kind words. She never met a stranger. Always had the ear and shoulder you needed.
We would like to thank the staff at Saint Anthony Nursing Home for the love and compassion they gave to Velma. They made her smile and brought her much joy. We are grateful for that.
Rest easy mamma. We all love you. And we will reunite again in heaven. You are dearly missed. Sending kisses and hugs to heaven.
