Vera Hasling Catalano passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Age 97 years. Beloved wife of Edwin Catalano. Sister of the late Robert Hasling (the late Sydney), Jack Hasling (Joyce), Margaret Gremillion (the late Esmond), Barbara Milhet (the late Hubert) and Fred Hasling (Alverta). Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew.
Vera was proud to have served her country as a WAVE. She was a graduate of Loyola and a teacher for many years. She also worked as a chemist at the USDA. Although she never had children of her own she was a mother to all of her family. Forever and always.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans at www.ccrno.org.
