I worked closely with Vera on my fist five books on the history of her father and his band. Unfortunately when her husband Paul died, we lost touch. I just finished my sixth and last book on my legacy series on her dad. I remember working closely with Vera when we shopped for and purchased the organ the band took up a collection for and presented to Mr. D during the 50th anniversary concert at the Orpheum. She was very helpful. A lovely lady, indeed!

Condolences to Vera's extended family on her passing.
Many fond memories of her at so many practices and functions and then traveling with us in Europe; supporting her dad's mission to forge a bunch of unruly boys into a remarkable stage presentation, which appeared easy from the front of the curtain, but often relied on her tireless support behind the scenes.

Through Mr. D. and a few gatherings with the Kitsilano Boys Band, I remember Vera as a quiet lady who always enjoyed seeing her father's accomplishments through music. She will always be remembered.

As a former member of the Kits Boys Band it was a pleasure to have known Vera and to have played beside her (she on bass drum and me on snare) during the 72 tour. She'll be missed!
