I worked closely with Vera on my fist five books on the history of her father and his band. Unfortunately when her husband Paul died, we lost touch. I just finished my sixth and last book on my legacy series on her dad. It is called The life and Times of the Legendary Mr D.My first five books are now up on-line and can be found by anyone interested in Vera and her dad's band, www.warfleetpress.com

I remember working closely with Vera when we shopped for and purchased the organ the band took up a collection for and presented to Mr. D during the 50th anniversary concert at the Orpheum. She was very helpful. A lovely lady, indeed!

Condolences to Vera's extended family on her passing.
Many fond memories of her at so many practices and functions and then traveling with us in Europe; supporting her dad's mission to forge a bunch of unruly boys into a remarkable stage presentation, which appeared easy from the front of the curtain, but often relied on her tireless support behind the scenes.

Vera had an abiding interest in her father's legacy -- and we are grateful to her for her continuing contributions to our collective memories.

Through Mr. D. and a few gatherings with the Kitsilano Boys Band, I remember Vera as a quiet lady who always enjoyed seeing her father's accomplishments through music. She will always be remembered.

As a former member of the Kits Boys Band it was a pleasure to have known Vera and to have played beside her (she on bass drum and me on snare) during the 72 tour. She'll be missed!
