Vera D.
Vera D. Garmon, 86, went home to be with her savior March 22, 2016, at her home. Born in Drew, MS, she was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Arie Colbert. She leaves to cherish her life, her loving husband, Willie Garmon Sr.; five children, Elise Garmon, Marlene Sandridge, Maxine Crittenden, Rev. Marilyn Witherspoon and Willie Earl (Gwen) Garmon Jr.; 23 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Pearl Furr, Bernice Motley, Edward (Dorothy) Colbert and Betty Jean Darrington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 - 6 p.m., Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel, family hour Wednesday 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Cornerstone Church, Rev. David Banks, officiant. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

My grandmother was the love of my life , she loved all of us unconditionally. I miss her laughter , and our private conversations , her wisdom and the deepest toughest love she had for her loved ones, Grandmother I miss and love you forever!!!!

My heart is heavy with the passing of Mrs Vera Garmon. Having met her when I was 15, I knew her to be a wise, loving Chritian mother. Her home was always filled with the aroma of Mr Garmon's dinner cooking on the stove and the radio on with praise music or sermons. Through her full life she created wonderful memories for her family and friends and I am so pleased to have a small piece of those memories. I pray that God comfort her family as they journey through the loss of her earthly life.

I wanted to send my prayers and love. Aunt Vera, was a great attribute to the lives of my granny Pearl Colbert Furr.. Avis Furr Clark. Arie Williams, Ava Crockett's and multiple cuzns including Isa Wyatt and Heather Aristilde.There's nothing much I can do but send my love and condolences to Aunt Vera Colbert Garmon.

Mrs. Vera will be missed by me and my son. She was a living angel and showed it every time we saw her. She always showed love and gave so many words of wisdom. She made a huge impact on this world. May she rest in perfect peace.
