I am so sorry I was in the US and unable to attend the service of my wonderful and vibrate Aunt Vera. It was only last month that I was thinking of her as I packed up my house and came across the rag doll she knit me as a child. My oldest daughter also heard many stories of my aunt as she played with her own doll.

Many of my memories are with aunt Vera and the entire family at the farm. The original 2 bedroom old house somehow held us all. Aunt Vera with the form like turbine and toilet paper wrapped around her head to preserve your hair style. Her energy and fun warmheartedness. I still tell the stories to many about our bath time in a small metal tub in the laundry area. The four foot round tub was filled with hot water from the stove and myself, Sheila and Karen would be put in and aunt Vera would say - wash down as far as possible, up as far as possible then possible. It was only later that I understood and got he humour.

It was while I was at university that she took up swimming and then teaching swimming. Whatever she did she put her whole soul into it. She made up games and innovated ways to be the best teacher she could be. There wasn't any limit on what new things she would take up and I so admired that

I could write on and on about my amazing aunt but look forward to being able to sit down with Karen, Craig and Uncle Norm and sharing them together .... real soon!

Her amazing courage and outlook on life is something I will carry with me always.

My prayers are with my Uncle and cousins. I love you all and we WILL get together very soon

Dear Norm & family,
Extremely saddened to hear of Vera's passing. She was an amazing lady with incredible courage, strength and a genuine spirit that very few possess. We are honored to have known her! If not for my father's health conditions this last while, we wish we could have spent more time with you folks. Vera was such an inspiration and we will always remember her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you at this time of loss. May memories of Vera bring you comfort as you grieve.
With much love,
