Verdye Bailey Obituary
Verdye was born July 24, 1931, in Riviera Beach, FL to William & Gladys Carroll, formally of Long Island Bahamas. She was a lifelong resident of Palm Beach County for nearly 92 years. She graduated from Palm Beach High and worked for the county for over 30 years.
Verdye loved deeply with her whole heart by giving everything she had to her family & friends. She practiced her faith in Jesus, demonstrating her servant's heart by faithfully teaching Sunday school and working in the VBS ministry in her church First Baptist of Lake Park for 50 years. Countless people have been blessed by her talent for cooking & sewing, but mostly by her love.
Verdye was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Paul D. Bailey, her son, Darby C. Bailey, & all 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Dana E. Hagan, her daughter, Dallas E. Moss (Robert J. Moss II), her grandchildren, Robert J. Moss III and Bailey C. Moss along with many precious family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Florida Baptist Children's Home or The Gideons International. Psalms 91

I´ll cherish the Memories of my great Aunt , A Strong & Wise Lady . I enjoyed seeing her & wanted so bad to sit for a while & reminisce about our Family . My last words with her was that I loved her & she told me I know you do . She squeezed my hand so tight I didn´t want to leave her . Verdye was one of the sweetest ladies that God ever blessed me in knowing. Working with her was always a pleasure. I always admired the love she had for Paul and her family, and I know the feeling was shared by them. I know she was a Christian in the truest meaning of the word. I´m sure that God has a special place for Verdye and her family that has been waiting for her. I will forever remember that sweet smile that seemed to be always on her face.

Thanking God for Verdye's legacy. As young teenager, I became a Christian at First Baptist Church of Lake Park and later on, served on staff as the Youth Director. From the very beginning, Paul and Verdye loved me and supported me in every way they could. They always provided me with love and encouragement. My last visit to South Florida was in 2014 and I was so blessed to see both of them at church. As usual, they gave me big hugs and loving, kind words. I am praying for your family today. But I´m rejoicing because I know where your grandparents are right now.

Susan and I were blessed to live next to Aunt Verdye and Uncle Paul for nearly 20 years. We have so many memories but my favorite is all her jellies and Tsunami birthday cakes she bake me every year. She will be greatly missed.
