Dear Laura and family,

We have been privileged to know and had many memories of Vern like giving him a bad time in the '50's at the Texaco Station when we were grown up and being kids. One of my friends worked for Vern and when he went home to eat or do things we always jumped at the chance to use the lift to work on our junkers. My wife worked at Steelcase CU when Vern was on the board. A great man and a great example of what a good person should be. Thanks for the memories Vern and my you rest in peace.

God bless the family.

Linda & Tom - Sorry to read of your Dad's passing. The one true blessing is the reassurance of him being with our Lord.I know it's been years since we have seen each other, but will pray for comfort during this loss of your dad.

Laura and families, So sorry to hear of Vern's passing. Know that he is at peace and with our Lord and Saviour. Even though I was young with our family living next to you on, I still have those memories I will not forget, like when one of your children tried to eat a caterpillar! Lol. Be strong and your faith will take you through this.

Was so sorry to hear of your Dads passing. I remember when he and your mom would come over to pick up Kristine & Steven after they had been playing at my house. Always had a smile and friendly hello. He will be missed. You are all in my prayers

Vern was such a nice addition to the Thede/Steeby/Schad families - cousin by marriage, but he was "one of us" as soon as he and Laura were married! He will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathy to his family with love...

Dear Hyde Family, Our deepest condolences on the loss of Vern. I have been blessed to have walked beside him many times in my early career at Steelcase. I was amazed at all the involvement he had in EVERYTHING. So precious to me are those memories of being an ethical leader, mentor, innovator and friend. A Man's Man. A Good Man! I was proud to be part of his retirement bash and even more so when our oldest daughter Heather won and was presented with the very first Vern Hyde Scholarship in 2008. Who now has two degrees(Alma),a master (Auburn U) and is currently in Higher Education Administration at Auburn University. A good choice I'd say.
His Legacy will live on Eternally in the hearts and minds of the Walendzik Family.
Thank You, Thank You VERN,
God Bless.

My deepest condolences Steve. Vern was a great man, one of the firSt I met when hired in at Steelcase. He was so outgoing and had such a wonderful demeanor to him and always treated everyone with respect. He literally made the credit union what it is today. He will be missed but he's in a better place my friend.
