Verna Bathrick Obituary
Verna is survived by her loving spouse Leonard Bathrick and her children: Ronald 'RC' (Amber) Pierson, Robert Pierson (Kayla Hilderbrand), and Vernon Pierson (Lynn Connolly). She adored her grandchildren, Domink Pierson and Odysseus Pierson. Verna will be dearly missed by her sisters, Viola 'Vonnie' (Jim) Hawkins, Barbara 'Barbie' (Eugene) Gordon, Millie Smedley, and her brother Everett (Annette) Smedley. She was also cherished by her Mother In-Law Shirley Bathrick, several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Verna had a special bond with her 'bonus son' Chris (Jamie) Burton.
She was known for her sense of humor, love for sunsets and good spirit. Verna enjoyed playing Euchre, card games, puzzles, retro video games, and Collecting Cabbage Patch Kids.
The memorial service to celebrate Verna's life will be held at the Woodland Ridge Clubhouse on April 27, 2024, from 2pm to 7pm. The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Home in Norton Shores, MI, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Verna was preceded in death by her sister Victoria Smedley, brother Chris Smedley, and her parents Everett Smedley and Barbara Carmean. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jerry and I are sadden at the loss of Verna. She was a thoughtful, giving, sweet lady. Always helping people and putting them before herself. We send our sympathy to Leonard, RC and Amber, Robert, and Vernon, Lynn and Ody. Her death is such a loss to Dominik as well. He adored her very much. That was his "MeMaw". She was very good to Dom. As I explained to Dom, she is with Jesus and it is so beautiful with the birds singing and fields of flowers as well and she is really happy. We will miss her. In God's love, Lynn and Jerry Wright
