Elizabeth "Betty" Osak

Osak, Elizabeth "Betty" Onsted, MI (formerly of Dexter, MI and Clinton, MI) Age 99, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was born December 4, 1919 in Dearborn, MI, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Lakatos) Szabo. Her early years were spent in Sumpter and Belleville, MI. On December 4, 1947, she married William Osak and following almost 30 wonderful years of marriage, he preceded her in death March 31, 1977. Betty was an original "Rosie the Riveter" member, having worked at the Bomber Plant and Kaiser-Frazer at Willow Run. She retired from Control-o-Mation, Dexter, MI in 1985. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed. Survivors include one daughter Janet Winkler of Onsted, MI and two grandchildren, Rick A. (Jennifer) Burch of Chapel Hill, NC and Amanda G. (Christoper) Piotrowski of Cement City, MI. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alex and Louis, two sisters, Olga Reid and Velma Thompson and one grandson Randy G. Burch. Public visitation will be 1-2 pm Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Stark Funeral Service. Private burial will take place in Alban Cemetery.
