Vernon MONEY Obituary
With his family at his side on December 14, 2015, Vernon Money, of Fort Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 75.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Celeste; children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren; daughter Tina (Kenton) Prins; Alanna and Brendan Finley (Simon, Henry, Fionn, Colm), Sarah & Logan Ewanchuk, Kathleen Prins and her partner Jeff Scott, Jonathon and Elyse Prins (Poppy); son Darcy (Glenda) Money; Michael and Andie Money (Scarlett and Braxton), Celee- Rae McKinney, Daniel Money; and daughter Tamia (Kent) Richardson; Anika and Mark Davis (Wesley, Blake and Matthew), Kayleigh and Drew Howard (Elyse, Zoe, Ben, Cole), Sarin and Gavin Harrison (Mira and Kaia), and Maren and Mia Richardson. Vern will also be missed by his sister Margaret Griffiths, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Vern was predeceased by his father, Albert Money.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004 - 101 Street, in Fort Saskatchewan; Lunch Reception to follow at the Dow Centennial Centre, 8700-84 Street in Fort Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Vernon's name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at jdrfca.donordrive.com or mail to 17321 - 108 Ave. Edmonton, AB T5S 1G2.

My condolences on the loss of Vern. He was my first coach in a community sport and although he worked with me only as a child, he never failed to remember my name and to say hello and inquire about me and my family long after I grew up. A truly kind man.

Celeste--I was so sad to learn of Vern's passing. My condolences to you and your family and your huge extended family . I met Vern when we were 8 years old in North Star / Manning . We spent many hours together in his home behind his dad's Post Office . We did lose touch for 20 something years as we went to college / university and set about in our working careers but we eventually somehow re-connected and have been good friends again for the last 25 years . Vern was a true gentleman and a very upstanding member of the community. I always introduced him to my friends and family as the real Mayor of Fort Saskatchewan . My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family . We lost a nice man . R.I.P. my friend Vern !

We got to know each other through our Dow careers and enjoyed our conversations through the years, even those few times after retirement that we crossed paths. Our condolences to your family.
