Veronica Niño Obituary

Loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend lost her battle October 3rd after at a two-year battle with ALS. Veronica passed away at the age of 45 in her home. She was born to Raul and Gloria Benavidez Castillo on August 8, 1967 in Edinburg, TX. She leaves behind her spouse Cristóbal Niño, her daughter, Marisa, and sons Daniel & Esteban, her parents, Raul & Gloria Castillo, her brother, Mark Castillo, sister-in-law, Connie, and niece, Lydia as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Veronica was a graduate of UT-Austin's school of Architecture and U of H's Graduate School of Education. She served at assistant principal of Southmore Intermediate.
Veronica was a vocal advocate, spokesperson and beneficiary of the hard work & research of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2012, at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00am, St. Bernadette Church, 15500 El Camino Real Houston, TX 77062.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name can be made the Muscular Dystrophy Association

I've known Veronica for over 20 years and will miss her spunk, quick wit, and ready smile so much. She left her mark on so many children.
