Family-Placed Obituary

LYCAN, Veryl Marie (Wallace) 78, Lebanon, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Blue Ash Hospice Center after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born Nov. 15, 1928 in Louisa, KY. A member of the Morrow Presbyterian Church and the D.A.R., she was a Warren County resident for 45 years, and worked in the Golden Lamb Gift Shop for almost 20 years. She was President of the Salem Township Library Board for 38 years and had a great passion for knowledge and library issues. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laban and Roxie (Bradley) Wallace; three brothers, Thomas Wallace, Elwood Wallace, and Lew Wallace; and two sisters, Emily Young and Dove Chaffin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald C. Lycan of Lebanon; three daughters, Inga Janette Kimple (Donald) of Lebanon, Carla Lycan and Ellen Rasnake, both of Lexington, KY; two sons, Jeffrey Lycan (Karen) of Columbus and Wesley Lycan (Cindy) of Middletown; five grandchildren, Taylor Lea Kimple, Arika Lycan, and Jesse Lycan, all of Columbus; Noah Rasnake of Lexington, KY, and Wallace Kimple (Nichole) of Lebanon; and one great-granddaughter, Kaden Kimple, of Lebanon. She is also survived by her twin brother, Virgil Wallace (Patty) of Louisa, KY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation was Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 to 11 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following, all at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Reverend Peter Larson officiating. Another memorial service will be held later in Louisa, at the family's convenience. Arrangements by Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lebanon Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 123 N. East Street, Lebanon, OH 45036; the Salem Township Library, 535 W. Pike Street, Morrow, OH 45152; or Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
