Vicky Daniel went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2022. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on May 1, 1943 to Donnie and Blanche Osburn. She was a graduate of Fort Smith High School and a proud Ouachita Baptist University graduate. Vicky had a love of learning, and soon realized her calling was to be a teacher. She moved to Camden, AR when she met her future husband, Jim Daniel, and remained in Camden until her death. She was an active member of Cullendale Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and worked in the childrens’ ministry. Vicky spent her professional career in education, teaching middle school English at Camden Middle School and Camden Fairview Middle School. Her happiest day was the day she became a grandmother and she loved to talk about her granddaughters to everybody that she met.
Vicky was a proud member of the “Magnificent Nine,” a group of nine women who met in college while attending Ouachita Baptist University and have remained friends for over 50 years as proud Golden Tigers.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Donnie and Blanche Osburn, and her husband of 48 years, James “Jim” Daniel. She is survived by her two sisters, Donna Roach and Sherry Mooney. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law Luke and Lauren Daniel, and her granddaughters Sydney and Kate.
Visitation will be held at Cullendale Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall) in Camden, Arkansas on Monday September 12, 2022 from 12:15 PM until 1:45 PM and the memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dan Martin, Dr. Larry Braden and OCMC Hospice, and Felecia Walton and Sweet Home Elderly Care. They were beyond caring for Vicky and their services allowed her to live out her time at home where she was surrounded by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the youth ministry or childrens’ ministry at Cullendale First Baptist Church.

Dear Family,
I was so shocked to her of Mrs. Daniels passing. I saw her not too long ago and we were able to have a short visit. Mrs. Dainels was one of my teachers in Middle School and she was always one of my favorite teachers. As I have gotten older, she no longer treated me like I was just one of her students but as a friend. That meant a lot to me.
I know you will miss her. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Vicky and I met while we were working on our master's degrees at OBU in the early 1970's. Later, Ron and I moved to Camden, and Vicky and I became friends and sisters at CFBC. We shared rooms while we were on a pastor search committee together. Ron and I had/have the utmost love and respect for her, Jim, and Luke. Those were precious years. Hers was a life well lived and she will be sorely missed.
