Victor "Pops" Corbella

Vic was born on June 25th, 1940, to Helen Luchese-Corbella and Victor Corbella. Vic lived the first 8 years of his life in Vacaville and moved to Sacramento where he spent the rest of his days. He had 43 years of marriage to Debi Goncalves-Corbella. Vic leaves behind his loving daughter; Monica, 4 sons; Vince (deceased), Randal, Anthony, Frank (deceased), beloved grandchildren; Gabriel, Sharon, Alana, Vince, Anthony (deceased), Serena, Jason, Angelo, Jenny, Dustin, and many great-grandchildren. Vic owned and managed IPS Printing Inc. along with Dave Webber for over 40 years. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the many people in thoe printing and graphic arts industry. He was well respected and appreciated by those who worked with him. Illness of Parkinson's disease and CMT caused Vic to retire though he always had it in his mind to work forever. Vic along with Debi shared love of travel with friends and family. Lake Tahoe was a yearly tradition for over 40 years. A highlight for both Vic and Debi was to visit Europe and especially Italy a few times. Vic was very proud of his Italian heritage with his mother's family from Lucca and his father's from Calabria. In health, Vic enjoyed daily exercise, running (no matter the weather), golf, wine, cooking, and the Steelers. A favorite pastime was sitting next to the campfire at his 10 acre Fairplay property with a glass of good local wine and Motown music playing in the background. One of his greatest pleasures in recent years, even given all his physical limitations, was to prepare a meal for ladies who came to the house each month for Bible study. These women were some of his biggest fans and loved hanging out with him prior to enjoying his specially prepared pressure cooked meal. Vic was well cared for and loved the last few years by long-time family friend, Jessica. He also had wonderful hospice nurses. A viewing will be held at Nicoletti's Mortuary 5401 Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento, Monday, January 27th between 4:00pm and 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. There will be a reception at Sierra 2 Community Center following the service.
