Victor Pellechia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 1, 2024.
Vic Pellechia, 72, of Wayne, NJ, passed away on April 29, 2024. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, a family-man who always put family above all else. Vic worked hard throughout his life and enjoyed weekly Wing-o Night with friends at the local bar. He was known for his kind and generous heart, always willing to help those in need, and often surprised loved ones with jokes and silly songs.

Vic was a retired US Postal Service employee of over 30 years, a lifelong small business owner, and a dedicated Crossing Guard in Little Falls, NJ, for 13 years. He graduated from Wayne Hills High School in 1969 and pursued coursework at William Paterson University.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Amy, sons Victor Jr (Kathleen), Robert (Ali), Steven, Anthony (Amanda), Mark, grandchildren Abigail, Addison, Ryder, Zoey, Hailey, Jackson, sisters Connie, MaryAnne, Beth, brother Michael, and was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Victor.

Vic found joy in baseball, especially supporting his beloved Yankees, spending time at the beach with family, organizing Easter egg hunts for his grandkids, hosting summer BBQs, and caring for his pet golden retrievers.

Our sincere gratitude to the care team at Valley Hospice and to the pastoral staff at St. Mary's Church for their support and guidance.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Church in Pompton Lakes on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness in Vic's memory.

I am Vic's cousin in California we grew up together played baseball together. My mother was Vic's father sister. The Pellechia's were a close Italian family and sent a lot of time together even vacationing together. I always liked Vic and his father, my uncle Vic, was the reason I got into the electrons field and started my business. I am deeply upset to hear of Vic's passing. I will pray for him and the family.

I am so sorry

Many mementos from the Wayne Post Office . Always catastrophes when getting the mail out. Always found some humor in all of this. Can´t make this stuff up. RIP my longtime friend.

I met Vic on the first day of my training in Little Falls as a crossing guard 4 years ago. It was January and bitter cold out that morning.
He didn´t know I was scheduled to train with him that morning and was very surprised to see me, a stranger, standing outside his vehicle knocking on the window to introduce myself! Surprise!. And in true Vic fashion, made me comfortable right from the start. The guards would gather every Wednesday after our shift at the bagel shop to have coffee and a bite. Vic was always so generous and always made sure I had a cup of coffee and a bite to eat on him. We would talk about work and current events and had so much fun laughing. I am so saddened to hear of his passing and will miss him. He was a wonderful, generous, caring person with such a great sense of humor. Vic, rest in peace. My deepest condolences to family.

With deep sympathy,

Debbie Dulski
