Victor Silverman was truly a guiding light in my lifetime. He came into my life in the 1960's, as friends of my parents. I can not rember a time when he and Mary were not there to celebrate a milestone in my life. May he find the eternal peace he deserves. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mary, Claudia, Paula, and their respective families.

Dear Mary, Claudia, and Paula--
My dad told me the sad news. Vic has a special place in my heart. I still remember when JFK was shot that Vic called me immediately to see how I was doing, as he knew that I so idolized JFK. I have many happy memories of your family and especially remember your love and loyalty to my mother.

Could never forget the man rolling an AV cart through the aisle of the classroom yelling; "hi ho Silverman". He was a great teacher with a passion to educate. I was fortunate to have had him as a teacher at LHS.

Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Vic. Holly sent me this link. I enjoyed the time I had with Vic, and I regret losing touch. I will always cherish my memories of him.

With deep condolences for your loss. Mr. Silverman was one of my favorite history teachers, who also, I now realize, first started me thinking about the interactions between, inter alia, law and society. (In my heart I will always be a student of history, but in practice, I'm a lawyer.) He was a great teacher.

Mr. Silverman was my 7th grade social studies teacher in 1964 at Harding and then again later at Lakewood High School. He introduced me to the stock market and Newsweek magazine. I remember his passion and humor. Sorry for your loss, he made a impact in my life and I am sure others... Rick DeSanto
