Victoria Hamilton-Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 30, 2025.
Victoria Marie Hamilton-Smith of Hobe Sound FL passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025 at the age of 63.

Victoria was recently predeceased by her mother Lorina Laferriere Goulet of Hobe Sound FL in March of 2025, her brother Douglas Hamilton of Farmington CT in November of 2024, and her father Ernest Hamilton of Windsor CT in 2020. She was also predeceased by her maternal grandmother Victoria Duprey Laferriere, maternal grandfather Adelard Laferriere, paternal grandmother Esther Hamilton, paternal grandfather Alexander Hamilton, stepbrother Robert Goulet, and stepsister Joanne Smith.

Vicky was born in Middletown CT. She grew up in Portland, CT before moving to Vermont for a couple of her teenage years. When Vicky and her family returned to CT they lived in East Hartford where she attended East Hartford High School. She worked at JCPenney Warehouse in CT before moving to Florida where she lived for more than 30 years.

Victoria is survived by her husband Walter Smith of Hobe Sound FL; mother-in-law Gail Smith and sister-in-law Dawn Smith, both of Hobe Sound FL; sister-in-law Lorna Hamilton of Farmington CT; stepfather Normand J Goulet of Hobe Sound FL; stepbrother Normand Goulet Jr. and wife Mara of Hobe Sound FL; stepsister Theresa Goulet and husband Donald Walker of Jupiter FL; stepbrother-in-law Angel Bermudez of Fort Lauderdale FL; stepbrother Larry Smith of Bossier LA; and by many beloved family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vicky was passionate about people. She loved spending time at family gatherings. Vicky liked watching old shows, taking nature walks and being outdoors. She always had fun hanging out with her friends while shopping or relaxing at the beach. Victoria enjoyed time spent with her mother...going out to brunch, making flower arrangements, observing nature, and reminiscing about special memories. Oh and we can't forget about her cat PLATO, "The Philosopher".

Vicky will be dearly missed by many friends and relatives as well as her co-workers at Publix's where Vicky worked for much of her adult life until her illness in the spring of 2023. The family would like to express their gratitude to her lifelong friend Monique Roche, for her frequent trips to be by Vic's side. Monique and another good friend, Megan Sallach were a major source of support during her fight against the cancer that eventually took her life.

We will remember Vicky as a kindhearted person who always saw the good in people. Her memory will be forever treasured by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

This is such sad news. She was a wonderful person. And fun to hang around with! May she rest in peace and enjoy eternity with the family. Condolences from both my mother Theresa and me.
