Victoria Terrazas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2015.
Victoria (Vickie) Talerico Terrazas was called by our Lord to join Him and Rudy in His kingdom on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the age of 84. The youngest child of Italian immigrants, she was born on December 6, 1930, in San Antonio. She attended the Little Flower School and graduated from St. Mary?s High School in 1949. She loved to sing and as a young girl would sing for the customers at her Father?s restaurant and for the Veterans at the various VFW halls. During high school, she sang in the choir, was Football Queen, and represented her parents? home country as Miss Italy in a local cultural festival. She won a singing contest on KONO, but declined the prize of a recording contract in New York. Upon graduation, Vickie started working in finance at Boyd Motors, then as a Cashier for Pacific Finance working her way up to Branch Manager. She retired from Transamerica Financial Services as a Branch Manager after a 39 year career. She married the love of her life, Rudy Terrazas, in 1951, and they shared their beautiful life together for 63 years. Vickie had a deep love for and guiding faith in the Lord, which showed in the way she lived her life. She was a loving and dedicated wife and Mother, whose main priority in life was spending time caring for her Family and making many happy, treasured memories with them. Though she worked full-time, her Family always came first. She never missed any ballgames, recitals, school functions, presentations, appointments, or anything involving her husband and kids. She filled their home with so much love, laughs, happiness, songs, late night breakfasts, and the best meals ever. She loved to cook and was without a doubt?the BEST. Vickie was a dedicated and loyal Spurs & Cowboys fan and loved gathering her Family together for these sport events. She enjoyed family vacations, going to the hunting lease with her Family, singing, dancing, trips to Las Vegas and Louisiana, and entertaining Family and friends on every anniversary, birthday, holiday, and special occasion. She was an active member of St. Gregory?s Catholic Church for 60 years. Her smile lit up a room and her laugh, joke telling, and sense of humor made those around her smile and laugh with her. She always made everyone she met feel loved and welcome. Her caring, kind, generous, thoughtful and loving nature and ways were endearing. Our Mother was the Best Wife and Mom in the world?a truly beautiful, fun-loving, very special Lady - inside and out - and greatly loved by her Family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts and thoughts.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Rudolph (Rudy) Terrazas, who our Lord called home in October 2014; her parents, Ventura (Joe) and Teresina Quartucci Talerico from Cosenza, Italy; brothers and sisters-in-law Blas & Dorothy Talerico, Frank & Annie Talerico, Mike & Louise Talerico, Sam & Evelyn Talerico; twin baby brothers Blas & Ernest, and Albert Talerico; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosie & Pete Ambrose, Florence & Horace Lee, Janie & Milt Foster; sister Natalie Hubbs.

She is survived by her son, James and wife, Debbie; daughter, Theresa and husband, Jimmy Wheeler; daughter, RoseMary and Mr. Shawn Johnson; Grandsons Petty Officer USCG Michael Burns and Ms. Samera Sedki, and B.J. Wheeler and wife, Fabiola; Great-Grandson Baylor James Wheeler; sisters-in-law Rose Mary Falcon and Carmen Dominguez; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loyal little protector dog, Rico.

The Family would like to thank Francis W. Mueller, MD, FAAFP and his entire staff for the devoted, personal care they provided to our Mother and Father for so many years, and especially the special friendship and love that we could see was shared among them.

Rose, James and Teresa,
I met your mom when I was a little girl watching Rose and my sisters play softball at St. Gregory's CYO. I always remember her contagious laugh and joyful spirit. I pray you find peace and comfort from the people during this time of transition. Mary Huntzinger

I can't express the wave of grief that washed over me when I heard of Mrs. Terrazas's passing. I would always have the pleasure of checking her in here at the Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio. She was a delight to see every time she came in. I mentioned her name to God in prayer one night, asking God to give me a smile like Mrs. Terrazas ALWAYS had, come rain or shine. She was a beautiful lady, and I will miss seeing her so much! My deepest condolences to her family. God definitely took home another angel!!

On behalf of the Coumadin Clinic, I would just like to say that we are truly honored and blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing and caring for such an amazing person. I can honestly say that heaven got a very special one today. She always welcomed everyone with a smile and kind words and she was adored by all who came in contact with her in our clinic. She was a pleaseure to care for as a patient and always made us feel comfortable and at ease when she came to visit. It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to a very special lady. May you live forever in the arms of our heavenly father. My deepest condolences to the Terazas family and may God give you peace in this difficult time.

James, Teresa, and Rosemary,
On behalf of the Martinez family and the Las Brazas family, We offer our deepest condolences. Vicky, as well as Rudy, have been an extended family to us for many years. They were more than just customers, they were more than just friends. They were around for so many of our milestones and we adopted them as grandparents. As we try to find the strength to deal with this loss, we want you to know that you have all our support. Your families as well as your parents are in our prayers.

My deepest condolences to the Terrazas family, I feel so blessed to have known such wonderful people as your parents . Vicky and Rudy always had such beautiful smiles and warm hellos for everyone . I will always remember the wonderful foods Vicky cooked for our office. She was an outstanding cook! Mr. and Mrs. Terrazas never arrived to our office with out a special cake or sweet treat for our Doctors and staff at Huebner family medicine . Vicky's famous strawberry fruit salad was always a special treat that no one in our office could pass up! Vicky always smiled and said here's a little pick me up! The recent passing of your father was greatly felt, he is so very much missed at Huebner family medicine. Rudy and Vicky, thank you for all the love you both gave! You will be so very missed. God bless all of your family and friends. Sylvia Aguilar
