In memory of
Alma Cosgrove
June 30, 2025
I started 12 years ago reading Mrs. Thompson's books out loud to my declining bedridden Husband. After his death, I started back re-reading them in order (Gaslight Series) and with each one, am so admiring of this Lady's writing talent, and humor, and thorough research of NY at the turn of the Century. I have this whole Series, thought I'd look up more on her online a couple of nights ago, and was stunned to find out she had passed in 2024. I came close to crying; to lose this talent, and from what I've read about her personally, such a lovely person. And her battle with cancer broke my heart. I plan to obtain the rest of her writings, and hope the Family get royalties on them! Though belated, my earnest sympathies go out to Mrs. Thompson's Family -- but what a wonderful heritage you all will have as a result of this Person's life -- God Bless Her and You All as well -- Mrs. Alma Cosgrove of Greenville, SC; retired U.S. Government Librarian

We met Jim and Vicki in Altoona when doing work with Habitat for Humanity. They were gracious hosts allowing us to stay in their home. Our kids loved Jim's waffles. Our sympathy is extended to all of Vicki's family. Mike and Wendy Campbell

She brought me so much joy through her books. She swept me away. She even made a few personal comments to me on facebook. She was so very special and kind. I will miss her deeply. My prayer go to her family

Reading her counterfeit books, brought such joy and hope. I lived h9w she used real events in her books and how Elizabeth was smart.

Vicki was my mentor in the Writing Popular Fiction program at Seton Hill. She was always so kind, supportive, and helpful, even after I graduated in 2016. She was an amazing writer and a wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed.

Vicki Thompson was one of the founding members of NJRW (New Jersey Romance Writers). I used to meet her at Romance Writers of America conferences and we'd have nice long and laughing talks. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing.
