Dear Family,
I was a friend of Vis' from the mid 60's through the mid 70's and then again briefly in the early 90's during his struggle with brain cancer. After reading of his death this morning, I spent several hours recalling all of the many memories of time spent with Vis. A favorite memory is the time we were out clubbing one night and a group of young women (we were young then too!) at the next table were whispering back and forth that Mark Spitz was at our table. They were trying to get up the courage to approach Vis, but never did. As we left the club, Vis handed them a napkin with the following notation: "Best wishes, Mark Spitz". We chuckled about that for weeks!
Vis was one of the most talented people I have ever known. I will always remember how beautifully he would play a song on a piano after hearing it only once. We were at a party at a funeral home one night - and his rendition of "96 Tears" on the funeral organ was awe inspiring!
I am so very sorry for your loss. Vis was such an incredible man. I will always remember Vis fondly as will anyone who ever had the priviledge to know him.
Rest in Peace, dearest Vis.

Dear Judy, Bob and Janis,
Although I did not know Vis very well I am saddened to hear of your loss.
May the warmth of tender memories and the love of those around you bring you comfort and peace and may you find the comfort in knowing that your loved one has been guided gently home and may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Although words cannot begin to ease the sorrow of your loss, Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through the days, weeks and months of dealing with your loss.
God Bless,With deepest sympathy,
