VINCENT S. "JIM"
On Monday, May 7, 2018. Age 92, of Bloomfield. Son of the late Giuseppe and Carmela Berardone; beloved husband of 65 years of the late Agnes M. Berardone (Fischetti); loving father of Carmella (Tom) Wisniewski, Joseph (Victoria) Berardone, Jim Berardone and Michael Berardone; cherished grandfather of Nicholas Berardone and lifelong friend of Raymond DeSanto. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and their families. Brother of the late Frank Rivella, Alphonse, Anthony, Margaret Chiostri, Delphine Carlini and Adeline Julian. He served in the US Navy during WWII in Peleliu, retired from the Pittsburgh Board of Education after serving 43 years and recently retired from Best Made Shoes after serving 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, baking, home remodeling, sports and sharing his time and hands to help others. Friends received Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WINTER FUNERAL HOME, PC, 4730 Friendship Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Parish, Immaculate Conception Mission Church.

I spent 10 of my 50 years in Pittsburgh and have since returned to the West Coast. Leaving home is hard at times, but the blessing is that you meet and share your life with amazing people who make not only your stay, but your life, better. I was fortunate enough to become friends with Michael to meet Mr. and Mrs. Berardone. Clearly Michael was raised by an incredible man and couple and I am better for it. Our thoughts are with you.
