Vincent Stanford Brown, 65, of Agricultural Avenue, Rehoboth, died on Saturday, December 15, 2007 surrounded by the love of his family at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island following a brief illness. He was the husband of Nancy Patricia (Downing) Brown to whom he was married on February 9, 1966.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1942 he was a son of Anna (Skorb) Brown of Attleboro and the late George Brown. He lived in several states before moving to New York State where he completed his high school education and graduated from Oyster Bay High School in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York in 1960.

For many years, Mr. Brown was associated with the thoroughbred horse racing industry having been a trainer within the New England circuit. He had also been employed for Folz Vending Company for many years.

Mr. Brown resided in Rehoboth for the past 37 years having moved to the community from Pawtucket, Rhode Island where he was a three year resident.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family as always being a “giver and not a taker”.

In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two children: Scott V. Brown of Rehoboth and Jennifer G. Brown of Santa Monica, California; a granddaughter: Kayla Brown of Rehoboth; four siblings: Peter Brown of Tiverton, Rhode Island; Carol Miller of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Paul Brown of Navarro, Florida and Christine Brown of Rehoboth and he also leaves several members of his wife’s family and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, December 22, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the “Memorial Chapel” of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A brief Prayer Service will follow visitation at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2007 in the “Memorial Chapel” of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Alan Palmer, officiating.

Burial will be private.

Children’s room available during visitation and the service.

Please omit flowers. The family would appreciate memorial donations in Mr. Brown’s name be made to either the American Cancer Society – Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the ALS Association – Massachusetts Chapter, 75 McNeil Way – Suite 310, Dedham, MA 02026.
