Vincent Curcio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 29, 2017.
Vincent George Curcio

Westlake Village, CA

Vincent George Curcio, 58, of Westlake Village, CA passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 after a courageous fight with Lymphoma.

He was born in Van Nuys, CA on July 26, 1958 to George and the late Lillian Curcio and grew up in Tarzana, CA. with his two sisters, the late Lisa Murphy and Linda Shigemura. He graduated from Taft High School in 1977.

Vince followed in his father George's footsteps to become a pool contractor early in his career working for his father's company, Clearlake Pools. His very successful career advanced him to General Contractor and President of Clearlake Custom Homes.

Vince liked boating with his children when they were younger and weekly backyard barbecues with friends and family. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July and went all out to celebrate. He was an amazingly talented and gifted gardener with a deep passion for tropical flowers. His orchids were his pride and joy; there was nothing he couldn't keep alive and thriving. He was a true dog lover, and his last pet, a Golden Retriever named Copper died earlier this year.

His memory will be forever cherished in the lives of his children; Jessica Lise Freedman; Kristen Anne Curcio, Vincent George Curcio Jr., Nicholas Craig Curcio; son in law Aaron Freedman; three grandchildren Emma Grace, Katelyn Rose, and Wyatt Wayne; father George Frank Curcio and Judy, sister Linda Shigemura, brother in law Albert Shigemura, niece and nephew Michelle and Danny Shigemura, ex-wife Toni Curcio, and a host of devoted family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Pierce Brothers Memorial Park in Westlake Village CA.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the City of Hope.

I didn't know Vince well, but I enjoyed our conversations whenever I would see him at our mutual friend Ruth's home or at happy hours at Fafalla and Zin Bistro. He always came and left with his good friend Mark. It's always sad to lose one of the nice guys, and it will be strange not to see Vince around town. RIP, Vince.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of my friend Vince. He was one of the first people I met when I became the new head basketball coach at Westlake high school. Vince, had a son on the team, who by the way was a fabulous player, plus he was very much involved in the booster club. He did so much for the team and gave me the best advice ever. Kind, smart, generous, never let me pay for a drink, always smiling. I will miss him.

We are so fortunate to have met Vince!! A beautiful soul, a rare man and one you could trust with your life!! One who always showed up!! He gave, he loved and he lived!! You could offer the world to him!! He in turn would just offer it back!! You could offer to help him and he would offer back!! You would check in to see how he was and of course he would do the same in kind. He cared so much about people it gave me comfort knowing there was such a good person in the world!! That's what Vince is... a special person unlike none we have met before!! Vince.., a great friend, father, grandfather, husband, boyfriend, businessman, worker, mostly a gentlemen an Angel!! Selfishly, We will miss him but know he lives forever in all that loved him!! That's is everyone that knew him!! ! I am so sorry to the family!! Vince is a very special person always will be!!

I am so sad to hear of Vince's passing. He and Toni provided me a little home away from home when I needed it. I will always be grateful for that. He was funny and kind and a really good cook. I hope good memories provide his family and friends comfort. Much love.
