VINCENT J. FRANCO, 75, passed peacefully on February 1, 2023, at The University of Chicago Medical Center,
Chicago, IL, after a lengthy illness. Vince was born in
Schenectady, NY, and moved to Burnt Hills, NY seven years later. Vince will be forever remembered by his devoted brother, Joseph Franco of
Rolling Meadows, IL. Precedent in death, his mother, Lena (Garofalo) Franco; father Vincent A. Franco; sister-in-law, Linda Spears Franco; several aunts and uncles. Survived by his brother, Joseph M. Franco (
Rolling Meadows, IL); his daughter, Elizabeth Brewer (Karl Rolf) of
Altoona, PA. Grandfather to Kolton, Keaton, and Eva Rolf. Friends with eternal love and respect, Joanmarie Brewer (Elk Grove, IL); Sandi and Gary Abrams (
Northbrook, IL). An extensive number of cousins and aunts, including an expansive network of loyal friends.
Vince graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School (Burnt Hills, NY) in 1965 with honors and was accepted to travel abroad during his senior year in high school; National Merit Scholarship recipient and participated on the wrestling team. Graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) with a BA in Political Science and a master's in philosophy while achieving high academic awards. Proudly a brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Employed by The IL Drug Enforcement Commission in 1972; later worked for various top ten consulting firms in Chicago. Eventually, he found his true business love. Founder and President of Intellitronics (Arlington Heights, IL). He was highly competitive and thrived on the challenge of "cutting the big deal." Always looking for the edge over his competitors while building his business. Later, he pursued his second love. Vince was a legal consultant for various law firms in Chicagoland until his illnesses prevented him from pursuing a difficult workload.
He had a deep love for his daughter Elizabeth and his three grandchildren. Friendships were an integral part of his life. Friends and family were a driving force of happiness. Vince was "always on call" to support his friends and business associates. His love and mentoring to his younger brother, Joseph, was always first on his mind, along with his devotion to his parents. He loved his family. His philosophical insights were respected and sought out by all who knew him.
A Memorial Luncheon will be celebrated at Saranello's in
Wheeling, Illinois; church services and burial will be in
Mansfield, MA. Vince will be interred in St. Mary's Cemetery (
Mansfield, MA) with his family members during early summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
American Cancer Society in Memory of Vince Franco are appreciated.
