Vincent Lipari Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 29, 2013 to Jan. 1, 2014.

(1963 - 2013)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother and uncle on December 14, 2013. Vince passed away peacefully at the UCLA-Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood after a courageous battle during an extended recovery from a liver transplant on January 3, 2013. Vince fought hard until the very end but the numerous complications were just too much to overcome and he is now peacefully at rest with his parents and nephew, Paul Joseph Lipari. Vince was born in Inglewood, CA, the fifth child of Joseph and Eva Frances Lipari of Ventura, CA. He attended Buena High School, Ventura College and graduated from California State University Northridge in 1988.

Vince was a teacher and coach at Rosamond High School (2002-2012), Littlerock High School (1994-2002), and Buena High School (1989-1994). His legacy as a teacher of many different courses and a coach of a football, basketball, track and golf is undeniable. He had a phenomenal mind for sports trivia and Jeopardy and loved his San Francisco Giants and Forty-Niners, Los Angeles Lakers and Kings, USC, Gonzaga, and thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf. Throughout his illness his love of music also brought him great pleasure and comfort.

Vince will forever be missed and remembered by his wife Stephanie, sister Joanne of Oxnard, brothers Terry (Linda) of Santa Clara, CA, Charles (Janice) of Salt Lake City, UT, Peter (Cheryl) of Priest River, ID, nieces Kristen and Megan of Santa Clara, CA, Crystal of Boise, ID, nephew Nick of Moscow, ID, mother-in-law Betty Jo Dhondt and sister-in-law Stacy Dhondt, both of Maumee, OH and beloved furry son Rolie.

Private family interment will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. A public memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 (1 p.m.) at Rosamond High School Gymnasium, 2925 Rosamond Blvd, Rosamond, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lipari's Legacy Scholarship Fund at Rosamond High School or to a favorite charity.

I'm very saddened to hear of Vince's passing. Vince was a student assistant for me when I taught at Anacapa Jr. High, and quite a character he was. He was also a good friend and mentor to my young brother-in-law who was Vince's neighbour. Then, even later, Vince came to Buena High School and taught with me for a few years. Vince was loyal, kind, courteous, hard working, and he still had that great sense of humour. I'm sure he will be greatly missed; my sympathy to his loved ones.

Coach Kyman and Kathy will forever remember Coach Lipari-"Vinnie". He was at our home many times for dinner and football parties when he, Coach Ky and Coach Bauer coached football together at Littlerock High School. They were Golden League Champs in 1998 and were an incredible team and coaching staff. We will miss his integrity, respectful coaching and words and natural wisdom about so many subjects. He coached my daughter Rachel Behen Thibault in basketball when he first started at Littlerock High School. He was a dear friend and we are thankful we had the pleasure of having him in our lives. Thanks for being here Coach Lipari! Coach Ky & Kathy

Stephanie, You fought hard together, as one. I am sorry for your loss. May God give you a great peace as you mourn, and may you feel the sense of His Presence as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
Though I never had the opportunity to meet Vince, I followed your journey together, and he seemed like an extraordinary man. May he rest in eternal peace.

Vincent was a great teacher and I am sad that I never had the pleasure of knowing him personally. But working at the High School, every student that knew him always spoke of how wonderful Mr. Lipari was! I will always have you in my prayers.

Psalma 28:7-8 The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts him. I was helped, my heart rejoiced, and I thank him with my song. The LORD is his people's strength; he is a fortress of protection for his anointed one.

This bible verse will forever remind me of Vince, his strength, his fight and his courage. He put his trust and faith in his Lord and he found comfort in Him, in Stephanie, his family and in song, in music! Stephanie also was one to always fight hard for Vince, to hold him up in prayer and to never give up. My prayers have been with them both through this long fight. They continue to be with Stephanie and all of Vince's family. Know that The Lord holds you all in his loving arms and that His power of giving you peace through your time of sorrow, is greater then any hurt and grief that you will go through. May The Lord continue to give you strength, comfort and peace of heart, mind and soul.
