McGOWAN (Vincent) Ballyogan, Culleens, Co Sligo 17th July, 2014 Vincents wife Mary, his children Ailish, Rory, Sorcha and Conall, his parents, Vinnie and Eta, along with his brothers and sister and extended family, on this the first anniversary of his death wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us following his death. Many thanks to everyone who phoned, sent beautiful Mass cards and enrolments, sympathy cards, letters and floral tributes. We were deeply touched by all those who reached out to us following Vincents death, your kindness will always remain with us. To our good neighbours, friends and relatives who supported us from the outset through this very difficult time in our lives and continue to do so, sincere thanks. To those who comforted us and supplied food to both houses, many thanks. To Canon George McHale who celebrated Vincents funeral Mass along with Fr Kieran Holmes, Fr Kevin Loftus, Fr John Carroll and Fr Paddy Tuffy a sincere thank you, also many thanks to Fr Peter O'Brien and Fr Padraic Costello, (Foxford) for their kindness and support. Thanks to John, Maria and Síofra McHugh for their touching music in the Church and graveyard and to Siobhan Terry for singing. Many thanks to all who participated in the readings, prayers and eulogies which made the ceremony so special. To the staff, pupils and parents of St Josephs NS, Culleens and the pupils of Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone who participated in the moving guard of honour, a sincere thank you to all. To the staff of McGowans Funeral Directors for your professionalism, support and guidance, our deepest gratitude to you. A heartfelt thanks to the gravediggers who did a fantastic job on Vincent's grave, a lovely tribute to a man who was involved in preparing so many himself. Thanks to the staff of the Diamond Coast Hotel for a lovely meal. Thanks to the doctors and staff of Enniscrone Health Centre and members of an Garda Siochana especially Garda Derek McDonnell for his ongoing help and support. Thanks to our relatives who looked after the houses during the funeral and to Members of RNLI, and Ann Lynch (Console) for their help and support. Many thanks to the staff of the Western Regional Office and Court Office, Castlebar and especially the District Court Office Ballina for the ongoing support and kindness. To the Friends, neighbours and relatives who have helped Rory with the farm over the past year, a sincere thanks. To Joady McGowan and especially Padraic Hannon for his constant support and guidance. To the farming community, many who travelled long distances to pay their respects, we are very grateful to you all for the big part you played in Vincy's life. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our sincere thanks. Whether you were involved in the huge numbers who attended the removal, funeral or the Months Mind Mass, your presence was greatly appreciated. Remember Vincy as he was always willing to help, with a big smile and infectious laugh. May his final journey bring him to eternal happiness. Rest in Peace, Amen.
