Vincent Barry McLorg

I had the good fortune to work for several months with Vince on a land use case. Behind his easy affability was great strength of character. I’m reminded of a quote by Heraclitus:

“The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the full light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny…it is the light that guides your way.”

I would not be surprised to learn that there are quite a few others out there who had the chance to work with Vince, and who were inspired by his approach to law and to life. Thank you, Vince, for a life well-lived.

We were fortunate to have Vince represent us in a stressful property matter. His integrity, skill, kindness and extraordinary sense of humor will always reside in our memory. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family.

I had the honor of working with Vince many years at USAA. He was truly one of the most caring and ethical men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His leadership skills and the concern he showed for his employees was exemplary. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our sincere condolences to Kathy and family. We treasure the memories of our ADC Hawaii trips with Vince. He was dedicated in his profession (no doubt) but I will miss his genuineness and that smile! Sorry we are unable to make the service.

I had the pleasure of working with Vince for several years while at USAA. He was an excellent attorney and a great guy and it was easy to see why he was so well respected by his peers. My condolences to his family.

My heartfelt condolences to Kathy, sons and family. I'll always have great memories and a special place in my heart for Vince because he was such a part of my life at Drake. Great times. Goodbye to a sweetheart of a guy.

I remember crazy Vince but we called him Barry growing up in San Anselmo, He frequented my parents place, Jeeps. So sorry to hear this. My prayers and thoughts are with Vince's family.

My deepest condolences to all Vince's family. Even 45 years later, I remember Vince's energy, sense of humor, and quick wit at Drake.

I am shocked and sorrowed to learn of Vince's passing. Aside from his skill and passion as a lawyer, he was a genuinely terrific guy. I send my deepest sympathy to Kathy, Colin and Kyle.

I like to remember Vince that way I knew him during his Drake High days, always smiling, always ready for some fun. Sorry I missed out on his friendship later in life due to my moving away from California. Heart felt condolences to his family.

I remember Vince as a "terror" and man in motion at Drake ...and driving the adminstators and teachers crazy with all his stunts...always a smile and up for a run down fourth street (cutting the gut as we used to day) or a High Y party event. One of the fun and good guys that's for sure!

Echoing others here, Vince was a class act - always respectful and friendly. He was a terrific supportive friend and wonderful neighbor, too.

Kathy, Colin and Kyle,
Mary Ann and I are saddened by your loss. Vince was a favorite of all who knew him... a great husband, dad and attorney, and a man who always made everyone smile with his wit and laugh out loud with his humor. We will miss him very much.

We are profoundly saddened to hear of Vince’s sudden conclusion/finale. I had the honor to work for Vince a good four years, and I consider that a privilege. When I first applied for a transfer to work for Vince (from USAA, Sacramento) I was warned, more or less jokingly, that Vince was a Veteran and an excellent Trial Lawyer and might be difficult working for him. I took the challenge and all I can tell you today is that I do not know what they were talking about. Kind, knowledgeable, sharing his own experiences and offering opportunities when possible, that’s how I remember Vince, “if you catch my drift.” With utmost respect and admiration I will always have a soft spot for Vince and you, his family.

Kathy, Colin, Kyle and extended family, with deepest sympathy, we will always keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

There is obviously no good time or way to lose someone you love, and we share the sorrow and void that Vincent’s passing brings to everyone who knew and loved him.

Kathy, you and Vince were there for us when we needed guidance through illness; taking our hands and our hearts and leading us through the darkness. We were blessed to have you both in our lives.

We remember family celebrations we have shared, the happy times, and the fun things we have done together over many years and treasure that last evening just a few weeks ago when we had dinner together. We will always remember Vince’s warmth, kindness and sense of humor, shining eyes and warm grin..

It is difficult to accept this new course that his spirit has moved towards, but we believe that in this journey we call life it is just an interval in time until we are all together once again.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Vince’s illness and passing. I worked in Vince’s office at the Law Offices of Vincent McLorg and admired and respected him. I can still remember him walking by my desk whistling “Fly Me To The Moon” like it was yesterday. The joke was, I would be on BART going home and humming that song which I could not get out of my head for the rest of the night -- then it would start all over again the next day when he walked by again. My sincere condolences to Kathy, Colin, Kyle and Malcom.

Vince, a dear biker buddy. Rides will never be the same, without new "Vincidents" to be shared after a long day's ride. Warm memories of fun times shared will always be in my heart.

I had the honor & pleasure of working with Vince during the early 90's as he did defense work for us at CSAA. He was counsel on a number of my files. Vince was a class guy, very solid personality, and treated everyone with the utmost respect. I haven't seen him in over 15 years but remember our times together like it was yesterday. My sympathies to his family, he'll be greatly missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Vince's death. He was one of the bright lights of Section C at Hastings, Class of '76. Always a smile, a good word, everything in perspective. My sincere condolences to Kathy, their sons, Malcolm, and to all of Vince's family, friends and colleagues.

Vince was an excellent attorney who did significant work on behalf of the University of California. We are indebted to him and are very sad to learn of his death. We send our condolences to his family. He was a wonderful colleague.
