Vincent Riggi Obituary
Born in Dunmore to the late Vincent J. and Irene Napolitano Riggi, he was a 1953 graduate of Dunmore High Shool and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Architecture in 1958. He joined his father's architectural firm in Dunmore and assumed management in 1961. VS RiggiArchitects developed a tradition of excellence in liturgical design on over 200 religious facilities and received numerous accolades for religious design: the Merit Award for Exemplary Work in Liturgical Architecture from the Forum on Religious Art & Architecture; honor award from the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture; and special interest award from the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art & Architecture. A member of the SS. Anthony and Rocco's Parish, it was designed by his father. He was a past president of the greater Scranton Jaycees, past president of the Boy Scouts of America Northeastern Pennsylvania counsel, a member of the NEPA alliance board, and a member of the Country Club of Scranton. A vigil member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow, he received the distinguished citizen award.
He is also survived by a son, Vincent J. and wife, Cheryl, of Pittston; three daughters, Marion Riley and husband, Robert, Haymarket Va.; Irene Campbell and husband, Bradley, Olyphant; and Lucia Murray and husband, Larry, Dunmore; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home with Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the NEPA Boy Scouts of America or the Lackawanna Heart Association.

My sympathy goes out to the entire Riggi Family. Vince, my late brother-in-law John Luciani, and I were friends and worked on several community projects together. He was a good and gentle man.
