Vinod MODI

MODI _ Vinod, Professor Emeritus, University of British Columbia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 12, 2003. Aged 73 years, Dr. Modi was an internationally recognized Scientist and Photographer. His scientific expertise was diverse extending to Space Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Biomechanics. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and students. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the incredible support and kindness received from doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers of Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver Hospital. Special thanks to Doctors MacDonald, Champion, Grafton (Cancer Clinic) and Turgeon. In lieu of flowers donations to Vinod J. Modi Memorial Fund care of Department of Mechanical Engineering, UBC, 2324 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4 would be appreciated. Tax receipts will be issued. Income from the fund will be used to provide scholarships to graduate students in the area of Space Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Biomechanics. Memorial Service will be held at a later date to enable friends and relatives from abroad to attend.
