Viola Mascorro Lopez

Viola Mascorro Lopez, age 86, a resident of San Antonio, Texas and a former resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away into God's loving arms on Friday, June 3, 2011 in San Antonio. She was born on September 28, 1924 in Kingsville to Jose B. Mascorro and Ofelia Sarabia Mascorro. Viola worked for the San Antonio State Hospital as a bonded cashier in the outpatient clinic for 23 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Gonzalo Lopez and George Gomez.
Viola is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Garcia (Jesus) and Anna Lopez, both of San Antonio; as well as her grandchildren, Alberto Garcia (Sylvia) of Killeen, Texas, Oscar Garcia (Denise) and Laura Aguado, both of San Antonio, and Jesse Garcia of McAllen, Texas; great-grandchildren, Joanna, Joshua, Jonathon, Miranda, Samantha, Aidan; Viola's siblings, Valdemar Mascorro (Betty), Margret Bates, Armando Mascorro (Rosario), Josie Ramos (Ademar), and Eladia Alaniz, all of San Antonio, Roberto Mascorro of Marina, California, Maria Elma Sandoval of San Diego, Texas, Ofelia Salazar and Jose Mascorro Jr. (Daly), both of Kingsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Fr. P. R. Victor as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
The daughters wish to thank Odyssey Hospice of San Antonio for all the help and guidance through out the 18 months that she was under their care. We especially want to thank Dr. Coral Drengler, her nurse Norma Garza and her C N A Janie Hernandez.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Sandoval, Johnny Sandoval, Oscar Garcia, Richard Bruce, Tony Mascorro and Mark Mascorro.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
