Violet Horton Obituary
Celebration of Life Services will be held in Cleves, Ohio. Local visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Violet was born March 17, 1917, in Duluth, Minnesota. She married James Horton on May 12, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Violet was a secretary at Monsanto Chemical Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 25 years, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Knox, Bettendorf; two grandchildren, Jodie Schwirtz (Matthew) and Andrew Knox (Shari), all of Bettendorf; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Boss, of Missouri; and a special friend, Richard Keely, of Springfield, Ill.
In addition to her husband, Violet was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
