VIOLET STANTON Obituary
January 26, 1918 - June 21, 2012
Vi died peacefully Thursday afternoon at the Ottawa Civic Hospital surrounded by her family. Vi died of pneumonia, a complication of surgery for a broken hip. She will be loved always by her children Buddy and Rosemary, their spouses Jill and Sally, her grandchildren Chris, Lukas, Matt, and their spouses Lisa, Jenn, and Jenny. Her sisters Mona Dube and Mary Regan will miss her dearly, as will her brother-in-law Jimmy and sisters-in-law, Anne, Colleen, Hortie, Kathy, Leigh and Terry. She was an Ottawa Valley Gal until the end. Her much loved husband Bernard and her beloved brothers Lorne, Leo, Ritchie, Hal, Carl and Donny will meet her at the gates of Heaven, with a glass of gin and a song. Family meant the world to Vi and she meant the world to all of her nieces, nephews, their children and to the Kennedy clan. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) on Sunday, June 24th from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday to Our Lady of Fatima Church for mass of Christian Funeral at 10 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Quyon.

Deepest Sympathy To the Stanton Family
I have known the Kennedy family for a long since they lived on Gilmour St, Centertown as our family lived only a short distance away, I was very close to Vi's Brother, Carl as we used to walk to St Patrick's College together. I always enjoyed meeting Vi and Bernard and they were great people and fun to be with. Now she will have company when she gets to meet them at her resting place.
May her soul ln rest in peace.

Vi was a very special lady. The epitome of kindness and caring and how she did love those hugs! On behalf of Mom (Lorna Kennedy) who is unable to attend the wake and myself I offer our condolences and our prayers.

This is a real loss! Vi was a kind sweet lovely lady inside and out. I'm so grateful to her for being a friend and dinner mate to my mother, Virginia Tellier.
