My deepest sympathies. May the God of all comfort strengthen the entire family during this time of sorrow. Always remember that God keeps in his memory those whom we lose because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15) O.Lam

I had the joy of meeting Dr. Beato when he visited the Los Angeles branch of his family in their charming cottage on DeLongpre in the Franklin Hills-Silverlake area of the city years ago. He was upbeat and sparkling. Everyone was in a great mood that night because of his visit. I remember him well.
Not least of his accomplishments were the children he raised. I have been fortunate to have his daughter, Maria Cristina Beato-Lanz, as my friend for more than 30 years. She is steadfast and caring, very accomplished in her own right. She always tries to help the downtrodden and those who would otherwise be forgotten by society. She has been a splendid wife, and a hands-on mother to her own children. She meets adversity with courage and never gives up. Her good character and successful life are tributes to both her late mother and her father, Dr. Beato, whom we now mourn. There are things that one learns at the parents' knees when one is small that can't be learned anywhere else.
However long the dearly loved one has lived is almost immaterial. When the fateful sad day arrives, it's always too soon. Rest in peace, dear Dr. Beato, and enjoy the rich rewards God has been saving especially for you. Your legacy lives on through your children and theirs. Sincerely, Barbara Briodin
