Bogert, Virginia Mary 2/21/1922 - 4/16/2016 Virginia Mary Bogert, age 94, of Davison formerly of Vassar died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Virginia's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm; and on Thursday, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Virginia was born February 21, 1922, in Vassar, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred and Rachel (Allen) Lambert. She graduated from Vassar High School, Class of 1940. She married Bernard W. Bogert on May 14, 1945, in Napoleon, Ohio. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 17, 1983. Virginia worked at the former Riverbend Nursing Home in Grand Blanc, for 23 years as their housekeeping supervisor, retiring in 2004. In her free time, Virginia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching the Detroit Tigers and Dancing with the Stars. She also enjoyed shopping at Dollar Stores and Kohl's and bird watching, especially Cardinals. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Robert W. (Joan) Bogert, Douglas W. (Sandra) Bogert and Pamela Roberson; six grandchildren: Andrew (Jill) Bogert, Amy Switzenberg, Jennifer Henderson, Eric Roberson, Lacey (John) Williams; three great-grandsons: Jacob and Joshua Bogert, and Andrew Pearsall; her brother, Larry (Karen) Lambert; sister-in-law, Betty Lambert; brother-in-law, Don Hecht; and many other family members and friends at Ballard Village. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, two brothers: Allen and Wayne Lambert and two sisters: Elaine and Gloria. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, or to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
