Virginia Caskey Obituary

CASKEY, Virginia 95, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2010, in the loving care of the staff of Oceanside Hospice, with family present. Virginia was born in Collingswood, NJ on June 28, 1915. She married Joseph A. Caskey of Haddonfield. They met while ice skating at 15, married in 1938 and their wonderful relationship continued on until Joseph's death in 2007. Our mother was kind, sweet and had a wonderful memory. She was a beautiful artist, a designer seamstress, prolific gardener and a very accomplished bridge player. She is survived by two daughters, Adele Hessler, of Ormond Beach, Joanna Cassidy, of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Robert Purbeck, of Kuna, Idaho, Terre Lickfield, of Port Orange, Naomi Kobrin, of Los Angeles and Daniel Kobrin, of Atlanta, Georgia. She also has six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will be hosting a memorial service of her life at Club De Bonmont on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friends of Virginia's are welcome to gather with us to celebrate her life.

Dear Del and Joanne,
I was sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Ginny. I still remember her babysitting me at your house in Haddonfield when I was little. She looked so much like my grandmother (Mildred) in the picture. It brought back so many memories of that little house on West Ave. in Ocean City when everyone came to visit. My condolences to both of you.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I recall when she and your father lived around the corner from me in Haddonfied, NJ (I live on Gill Rd.), and the Mercury Marquis they had. I also recall seeing her and Joanna walk past my home during their walks. I didn't know her, but it sounds like she was a wonderful person, and had a fulfilled life. My condolences to your family and I am sure that memories of her will be very special at this time.
