Virginia Anne "Ginger" Cloonan

Virginia "Ginger" Anne Cloonan (Cohen), a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Born on 6/9/1939 in Chicago, IL, Ginger was a woman of remarkable strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

As a teenager Ginger was stricken with Polio. She spent many weeks in the hospital and lost the use of her right arm and hand.

She never let that or anything else get the better of her. She lived through many challenges and became a successful businesswoman running an Art Galley and Frame Shop, "The Country Framer" for almost 30 years. She was able to work on the board of the P Buckley Moss Society and travel to many places around the world.

Throughout her life, Ginger touched countless lives with her generosity, her warm smile, and her positive attitude. She loved to laugh and loved telling and listening to stories, she even self-published a book "A Sister's Story".

Ginger is survived by her loving family, including her daughter:

Deb Bryant, her husband Jeff Mizialko and daughters Kylie Mizialko and Emma Mizialko; son Mike Bryant son Jake Bryant and daughter Rachael Bryant; son Kevin Cloonan his wife Linda (Holmes) and daughters Laura Cloonan and Kate (Cloonan) Dawson husband Jack; sister Nancy (Cohen) Prokop her sons Brian Prokop wife Hannah (Brann) and Brandon Prokop wife Michelle (Lawrence); sister-in-law Eileen Cloonan and her daughter Melinda (Baggett) Merriman husband Steve; niece Liz (Farrell) Joseph her husband Bob and children Kelly Joseph and Katie Joseph.

She found immense joy in her grandchildren, and nieces and her love for them was a bright light in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her father Bernard Cohen, mother Marie (Byrnes) Cohen, and sister Diane (Cohen) Farrell.
