Virginia Hyder Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 15 to Jan. 31, 2016.
Virginia D. Hyder, 80, Bellevue, Ky., passed away in the early hours of Jan. 7, 2016, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She passed with family at her side at St Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Ky.
She was born Aug. 27, 1935 in Cynthiana, Ky., and was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Nancy "Dude" Dryden of Cynthiana and her husband of 56 years, Jack A. Hyder.
She is survived by her sons, John (Karen) Hyder of Wheaton, Ill. and Andrew "Drew" (Elise) Hyder of Ft. Thomas, Ky.; brothers, Virgil (Audrey) Dryden and Wayne (Linda) Dryden, both of Cynthiana; grandchildren, Rachel Leigh Hyder, Nicholas "Nick" Austin Hyder, Austin McKinley Hyder, and Renee Martha Hyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, and was admired by everyone she met due to her positive outlook on life, and her constant smile, no matter how difficult the situation. She was an example to others; showing patience, courage, and dedication in all that she did. Above everything, she loved and trusted in the Lord and had a strong desire for others to love and trust in Him as well.
She graduated as Class Valedictorian from Harrison County High School in 1953, attended Georgetown College from 1953 to 1957 before marrying Jack and moving to Bellevue. She later earned her Master's degree from Northern Kentucky University. Virginia taught at both Bellevue Middle School and Grandview Elementary. Her career spanned more than 30 years of service before retiring. She was an active member of Covenant-First Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, and also attended First Baptist Church in Bellevue. During her teaching career and in retirement, she was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Zeta Chapter and served on various committees and as an officer. In addition, Virginia volunteered her time with Jack to the Kentucky Central Railroad Historical Society and Cincinnati Tall Stacks.
Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Homes, Bellevue, were in charge of arrangements.

Her beautiful smile and positive attitude will be missed and remembered by all of those who had the pleasure to meet her. She brightened my day every time she came in to our office.
