Virginia Kramer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 8 to Jan. 13, 2024.
Farragut - Gini Kramer passed away at the UT Medical Center on January 1st, 2024. Gini was born in Tucson Arizona on February 8th, 1944. She met her husband Cas Kramer while attending The University of Arizona. They traveled to many locations in the U.S. and abroad throughout Cas's military career. This is where she developed her love of travel. While raising her 4 children; Gini received her BS in nursing from The University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill. Once the family moved to Knoxville she obtained her Masters in Nursing from The University of Tennessee achieving her Nurse Practitioner's license and also became certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Gini worked for UT Medical Center for 26 years with OBGYN and Women's Health patient care. She was dedicated to her patients, their care and also mentoring and training nursing students throughout her career. She was respected, valued and relied upon by her peers, patients and most anyone she came in contact with during her lifetime. In her later years, she suffered through many physical disabilities with courage and tenacity. Despite how she was feeling her friends say "she was always there with a smile and a hug". She never QUIT. She fought up until her body couldn't any longer. She lived just as she died; by her rules. She was preceeded in death by two of her four children Tim and Tracy, as well as her Mother Alby Todd Turner. She is survived by her husband Cas (Casper) and her other two children Todd and Joan (Joanie). She was able to spend some of the last weeks of her life with some of her grandchildren Rand, Skye and Poe (Todd/Kielly): she loved all of her grandchildren Alex (Todd/Susanne), Cannon and Cash (Tim/Kimberly). Seeing them always made her smile for long after each visit. A Celebration of Life will be held on Februrary 3rd from 1pm to 4pm at Chesapeake's West on Parkside Dr. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. 136 Harvest Ln. Maryville. TN 37801. It is a charity Gini donated to every year.

Gini's smile and laugh will be missed. She always had a smile every time I saw her. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Cas, Todd and Joanie at this difficult time. Prayers for peace and comfort to all of the family.

Cas and Gini are among, if not the best, of friends to us and our family. We shared many events and much time together. She had a great sense of humor...with my hair so gray, she made me feel special by calling me the Silver Fox. She will be missed. Marty

Marty and I have known the Kramer family since all of our children were youngsters, so we have so many positive things we could say. However, our fun in traveling with Gini and Cas always stands out in our minds, Gini never met a stranger and was always up for trying out new things. We will miss her so much and our lives will be poorer without her in it. A lot was said in her obituary about her role as a women's health nurse and I can only applaud that. Her generosity in sharing her knowledge and skills with patients, other nurses, and students was exceptional. Dava and Marty Shoffner
