ROSSI VIRGINIA ROSE
91, of Ellwood City, formerly of Koppel and Wampum, went home to be re-united with the love of her life on Saturday, July 30, 2011 following a short illness. Born June 14, 1920 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Angelene (Taverna) Rizzo. She was married August 3, 1939 to James E. Ross, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1989. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Stephanie Rossi Jr. of New Castle; a daughter and son- in-law, Carol and Frank Wehman of Ellwood City; a daughter- in-law, Deborah Rossi of Florida; a son-in-law, Robert Walton of Ellwood City; sister, Anna (Rizzo) Hudak of Indiana, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Sara (Rizzo) and Howard Trojanowski of Pittsburgh; a brother and sister-in-law, John "Buddy" and Verna Rizzo of Pittsburgh; 16 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rossi was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Walton; a son, Charles Rossi; two brothers: James and PFC Thomas Rizzo, who died during WWII; two sisters: Mary "Hilda" Bonaddio and Katherine Eckman; and a granddaughter, Pamela Anderson. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday August 2, 2011 from 2 - 4 and 7-9 at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. A Blessing service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
