Virginia Sturgess Welch

Virginia Sturgess Welch, 80, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in Briarciff Pavilion, North Huntingdon. Born in McKeesport, Feb. 7, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Emma Miller Forsyth. Wife of the late Paul E. Welch. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, White Oak, and the Christian Mothers at St. Mary's German Church. Survivors include four sons, James Sturgess, of Harrisonburg, Va., David Sturgess, of Manor, Robert Sturgess, of McKeesport, and Paul Sturgess, of McKeesport; a daughter, Dawn Wolfram, of North Huntingdon; a sister, Norma Kruczek, of Harrisburg; a brother, Paul Forsyth, of North Huntingdon; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends received at STRIFFLER'S OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 9 a.m. Friday in St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, White Oak, with the Very Rev. Stephen Chervenak as celebrant. Burial in New St. Joseph's Cemetery.
