I’m so sorry to hear that Vito passed away. I know this is long over due but I just found out now. I took lessons in Winnetka back in 1980 when I was 15. I still remember using square pieces of cardboard so we could do the splits easy. I also remember the picture of Vito in the shop of him in mid air doing a flying sidekick with a perfect knife edge. He was a great instructor. RIP Sir. You left a big impression on many people including myself.

Vito is a Man I will never forget. As a child I was a Motorcycle Racer out of Canoga Park California. Raced Professional and on the road a lot. But when I was at home would ride my bicycle to Vito's shop on Roscoe and watch through the window him Instruct Martial Arts. We got to be friends of sorts. He would come outside and talk to me like a Father. After High School ( shop moved to Winnetka Ave ) and I could afford Lessons I did almost 3 years as a perpetual White Belt but sparred with Brown & Black. I joined the Army and became an Army Ranger. I guess what I am trying to express is that Vito taught me more than Competition and Winning, he taught me Compassion & Respect for those you conquer. There is an Art in Martial Arts Vito weaved into his Lessons that a real Winner does not crush Souls in the process of Winning even in mortal Combat there is a way to defeat an opponent with respect and regard to that Soul. I love this Man.

Brother Vito
Brother Vito was a warm, caring intelligent person.
He took care of his fellow man.
He was always willing to share his knowledge with all.
He would talk for long periods of time.
When he left, he would say, "See you later Sir".
Another loyal Woodward worker gone, but not forgotten.
Take care Brother Vito,
I know that you will be sharing your vast knowledge with all.
Your friend always,
Jim Kane

Mr Vito, you made such an impact on me. You taught me so much....not just about Tae Kwon Do...you taught me lessons to use throughout life...lessons I now teach my children. You will always have a place in my heart and I will think of you every time I go a 3 minute round on my bag!

I was saddened when I received the call from Anna, Mr.Vito's sister to inform me of his passing. Anna rest assured Mr.Vito will never be forgotten to those of us who had the privilege and good fortune of training under him. Mr.Vito never told us we couldn't do things, he encouraged and supported us. When he told us to do a kick we did it without question because we trusted him.
My senior year of high school I was spending all my time at the studio training and neglecting my studies. My mother went to Mr.Vito and told him the situation. He kicked me out of the school and told me not to return until my grades improved. I did not return until I graduated high school that year.
Mr.Vito always had a love and passion for the martial arts, this he passed on to his students whether at Vito Falco's Tae Kwon Do Academy or in his backyard.
Thank You For Your Love And Training,
Oscar Francisco Toledo

Vito was a kind and generous man who loved his family. We had some great family dinners over the years and he was always a lot of fun. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Vito, thank you for being there in so many ways. You were a tough guy with a soft heart. I have many childhood memories and always considered you an honorable uncle to me. My best memories consist of you and I training in your backyard. I enjoyed our conversations about life afterward. Thank you for pushing me and showing me that toughness builds durability, durability builds perseverance, and perseverance provides fortitude. I love you Mr. Vito. May God give you peace and remove all pain for eternity.

Vito was a great friend to my husband and and I. We went camping among other activities...what fun it was to tease him..he was so predictable in his reaction. He would stop by and see us on his way to or from Monte Carlo when he bought his weekly groceries. He and my husband worked at HR for many years together He was loved and will be greatly missed George and Joan Robinson

Mr. Vito was many things to many people but what he was to me was a teacher and a mentor. I met Mr. Vito through my older brother who was taking Karate lessons from Mr. Vito at Mr. Vito's Tae Kwon Do Dojo located on Winnetka Avenue in the San Fernando Valley. The year was 1981 and I was a very impressionable fourteen (14) year old kid. At that time my brother who was a blue belt had me meet and talk with Mr. Vito. Next thing I knew I was racing home with a consent form for my parents to sign so I could learn from Mr. Vito. I remember Mr. Vito as being a soft spoken person although when he spoke everybody listened. Over my three (3) years of training and progression from a white belt to a level three (3) brown belt I learned the importance of respect, discipline, dedication, and mental balance which helped me focus to a level of consciences known as present time'. Mr. Vito did not only teach me how to kick, punch and defend myself he taught yin-yang. Mr. Vito's time and energy spent on this earth are not forgotten and in actuality his teachings are living within me and being taught to my children and those around me. I was very fortunate to have had Mr. Vito in my life when I was an impressionable teenager. He was a good Man, may he rest in peace.

It saddened us deeply when we got the call regarding the passing of our uncle. Our time together felt so short, you were taken from us too soon. We hoped we could have seen you at least one last time before you had to leave us. We wish we could continue making memories with you, but sadly our time together was cut short. Although we will not be able to make new memories with you, we will forever cherish all of the meaningful moments we shared together. We miss you dearly, rest in peace our sweet Uncle.
Love, Nick and Antonella Curinga

When my brother passed, one of my most panic-inducing fears was that after time he would not be remembered. I wanted a way for him to be memorialized that would be accessible to family and friends across the country, and for my children, when their memories of him start to fade. My loving brother may you rest in peace. Love you sister Anna Curinga
