Mrs Jung, I am saddened by your passing. However you have left me with such wonderful memories I will forever cherish. You have taught be so much and I am honoured to have been one of your pupils. You really taught us me to appreciate life and cherish what we have. I will miss your wisdom but will use it as my guiding light in life. Thank you, Mrs Jung.

It was sad to hear of Vivan's passing when she was mentioned in the speech at the VSO Concert volunteer reception yesterday evening. Her lively personality is missed not only at VSO but at the upcoming Jazz festival at the Roundhouse where she was a regular in the volunteer centre. A life well lived.

Our thoughts is with you all as Vivian is now 'just away' at God's Paradise in Heaven with her spirit shining upon you all and her happy memories lives forever in all of your hearts...
The Happy memories we shared as its seem just yesterday we enjoyed a brief visit on January 20, 2014 at Radisson Hotel in Richmond, B.C. B.C. Government Consultant Forums of Historical Wrongs Against the Chinese British Columbians Vivian as usual smiling enthusiasm handed the forms to Ken Chan who usually droves Vivian and I home as
en-route, Bud and Bev have also kindly drove us too...Vivian asked Ken & I signed for the Chinese Vets in Ottawa Military Museum and to ask all the audience to sign for the Chinese Vets...To-morrow is Sun Run, usually Vivian would be there handing out
T-Shirts as a volunteer....And at White Cap Soccer Game, she would get the complimentary tickets for Ken in appreciation of Ken drives her home...
Last summer after the Chinese Vets picnic Ken drove Vivian and I home, Vivian insisted that we stopped at Starbuck on Burrard for coffee, Vivian reflected of Chinatown Days...stated their family was very poor and pointed at me said "she and family is rich"...Which we all are not rich my prominent family as intelligence classical Chinese teacher all suffered discrimination, restrictions and taboo losses...Art & Doug Jung were my mother's Chinese students and their mother was my kindergarten teacher in Victoria we called her "Shee Mo" and their father often came to our Aunt's Yick Fung Co in Victoria to help him with his needs after his work...We had lovely visit of the good ole days...
the happy memories forever remembered,
God Bless Vivian's sparkling soul
Forever Loved

Auntie Vivian you will be terribly missed. We appreciate all the happy memories and all the invitations to the Sing family picnic at Stanley Park. You were the life of the party, always full of energy and enthusiasm. It's so sad for us to see you go, especially when we were talking about your 90th birthday coming soon. Well, now you can celebrate it in heaven with Arthur, Uncle Albert, Tootie , etc. We are thinking of you always.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Vivian Jung, she was remarkable lady
who lived life to the fullest. The one thing I will miss the most is her wonderful storytelling. It was her energy , her womanship that made her a remarkable woman.

She was a tireless volunteer in the Arts community. Despite failing health, the long-retired phys-ed teacher had plenty of energy right up to the end. Just two weeks ago, Vivien worked a six-hour shift helping out at the Vancouver Wine Festival. She got off at about Eight. She must have been exhausted. But did she return home, you might ask. No, she called her daughter who drove her over to see the Big Jazz Band I was playing in on South Main St., miles away. She sat there beaming for more than an hour until her daughter persuaded her to get on home and rest. That was "Auntie" Vivien. A smile as wide as she was tall. A gentle lady who'll be missed by all who knew her.

I was fortunate to have "Auntie Viv" as my teacher in the late 1950s. I remember her fondly for her warm personality, boundless energy and enthusiasm. She even coached our softball team in 1959! How lucky was I when we were "reunited" at the Sing family celebration in Stanley Park in 2010. She hadn't changed -- every year Don & I looked forward to her special treat of grilled hot dogs with onions. Truly a remarkable person, may she live on in our hearts and memories forever. Our condolences to the family. She will be greatly missed.
